Terms of Service
Last updated: April 9, 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using CitizenIQ ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service. These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and the operator of CitizenIQ.
2. Description of Service
CitizenIQ is an educational web application that provides practice materials, adaptive quizzes, flashcards, and interview simulation tools to help individuals prepare for the USCIS naturalization civics test. CitizenIQ is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) or any other government agency. All civics questions are based on publicly available USCIS materials (Form M-1778).
CitizenIQ does not provide legal advice. Nothing in the Service constitutes immigration advice or legal counsel. For immigration-related legal questions, consult a licensed immigration attorney.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years of age to use CitizenIQ. By using the Service, you represent that you are 13 or older. If you are under 18, you represent that a parent or guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf.
4. Accounts
You may sign in using Google OAuth. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to notify us immediately at our contact form if you suspect any unauthorized use of your account.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, are found to engage in fraudulent activity, or are used to abuse or circumvent payment restrictions.
5. CitizenIQ Pro — Payments and Refunds
CitizenIQ Pro is available for a one-time payment of $24.99 USD. This is not a subscription. Upon successful payment, you receive lifetime access to all Pro features available at the time of purchase.
Payments are processed by Stripe. By completing a purchase, you agree to Stripe's terms of service. We do not store your credit card information.
Refund policy. CitizenIQ Pro is a one-time purchase with a 7-day refund policy. If you are unsatisfied for any reason, you may request a refund within 7 days of purchase by contacting us through the in-app contact form. Refunds are processed to the original payment method within 5–10 business days. After the 7-day window, refunds may still be issued at our discretion for technical issues that prevent access to Pro features.
6. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service or its infrastructure
- Share, resell, or redistribute your CitizenIQ Pro access to others
- Reverse engineer, scrape, or copy the Service's content or underlying code
- Use automated tools, bots, or scripts to access the Service at scale
- Impersonate any person or entity or misrepresent your affiliation
- Attempt to circumvent payment or access controls
7. AI Features and Grading
CitizenIQ includes AI-powered answer grading and interview simulation features. These features are provided for educational purposes only. AI grading results are approximate and may not perfectly reflect how your answers would be evaluated by a USCIS officer. We do not guarantee accuracy of AI-generated feedback.
Pro accounts include 50 AI-graded sessions. After that limit is reached, answers are evaluated using smart keyword matching, which remains functional and accurate for standard answers.
AI Accuracy Disclaimer. AI grading is powered by third-party language models (including DeepSeek) and provides approximate results that may not match official USCIS scoring criteria. CitizenIQ is a study aid and practice tool — it is not a guarantee of passing the USCIS naturalization test. Users should always verify answers and study materials against official USCIS resources available at uscis.gov.
8. Intellectual Property
All content on CitizenIQ — including the application design, UI, study features, memory anchors, and non-USCIS content — is the property of CitizenIQ and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. The USCIS civics questions themselves are in the public domain as U.S. government works.
You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from CitizenIQ's proprietary content without written permission.
9. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT DEFECTS WILL BE CORRECTED.
We make no guarantee that using CitizenIQ will result in passing the USCIS civics test. Study outcomes depend entirely on the individual user's effort and preparation.
10. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, CITIZENIQ SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF PROFITS, OR FAILURE TO PASS ANY IMMIGRATION EXAM, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
WITHOUT LIMITING THE FOREGOING, CITIZENIQ EXPRESSLY DISCLAIMS LIABILITY FOR ANY DAMAGES OR ADVERSE OUTCOMES RELATED TO IMMIGRATION OUTCOMES, VISA APPLICATIONS, NATURALIZATION PROCEEDINGS, OR ANY OTHER IMMIGRATION-RELATED DECISIONS MADE IN RELIANCE ON THE SERVICE. THE SERVICE IS AN EDUCATIONAL TOOL AND DOES NOT CONSTITUTE IMMIGRATION ADVICE.
IN NO EVENT SHALL OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO CITIZENIQ IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR $25, WHICHEVER IS GREATER.
11. Force Majeure
CitizenIQ shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performing its obligations under these Terms where such failure or delay results from circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to: third-party service or API failures (such as Stripe, DeepSeek, or Supabase), natural disasters, acts of war or terrorism, pandemics, government actions or regulations, power outages, internet disruptions, or any other force majeure event. During such events, our obligations under these Terms are suspended for the duration of the disruption.
12. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any dispute arising from or relating to these Terms or the Service shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If that fails, disputes shall be resolved by binding arbitration under the American Arbitration Association's rules, conducted in California. You waive any right to participate in a class action lawsuit or class-wide arbitration.
13. Changes to These Terms
We may modify these Terms at any time. When we do, we will update the "last updated" date above. Continued use of CitizenIQ after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. If a change materially affects your rights, we will make reasonable efforts to notify you.
